And, according to my most recent (and second) informal theory, Monotropism Employment Theory, there are indeed serious consequences if our monotropic employment interests are masked or not accommodated.

Not to mention how in that same theory I demonstrate why we have to mask every day, especially before we are self-aware or lucky to be diagnosed. Being 42 I feel that this age is already in the realm of ageism and I’m more powerless to expect accommodations..
