I saw this change coming from the email update. But now that I realize what I set for my profile, honestly, I liked the softer and darker red color I originally set for my profile. It was far easier on the eyes. Especially mine. In most designs or color choice, I choose darker background colors because I often get headaches if its too bright. White is at the top of the list for brightness. In electronics, I have to turn down brightness to well below half strength. Now, with Medium's change, I realized my profile must've had a custom setting I wasn't aware of and now wish I could keep. All it was was color choice. Not some fancy patterned selection. So, now... I'm stuck with a massive screen of bright white that, even with reduced screen brightness on my laptop, is hard on my eyes... I can't say I'm pleased.
