If it’s been going on for at least this year, as I’ve observed thanks to a constant bot presence on Twitter giving me frequent practice, then chances are if Medium still hasn’t addressed it it’s nearing a lost battle.
They’re an aggressive, and probably intentional problem on Twitter. Unless someone lifts a finger, it’ll only get worse.
And I’m not even a member to maintain free access for public awareness. When I realized Twitter was throttling access to the links I posted on there, to here, I’ve decided to stop writing.
Then, here, I started applying to the Boost program with some solid good articles, August right after the changes to the program, and nothing was accepted. Even one that my publisher group felt had a strong chance. Nope.
Additionally, other autistic writers have had a drop in Boosting success. Even here, my stuff hardly gets views because Medium’s algorithm is just like Twitter. If it’s controversial (I’m a suicide survivor, for example, but I write it safely) or you don’t have a lot of engagement, you get hardly any.
As a result, December 25th will probably be my last publication. I can’t stand up to the throttling or lack of prestige. I also have time-sensitive issues I’m writing about, and living. Autistic people do. I came here hoping to gain traction and reach a lot of people.
That’s just not happening.
And what I believed were bots following me is just the zip tie on the garbage bag. It adds to the issues and drives me away.
I dunno what to do…
