It is logical to think so.
But l believe Best’s conclusion is not entirely correct. Pardon for saying it so bluntly.

It’s more just to end the suffering. You’re ready to go. Suicide attempt survivors who survive don’t know what to expect or if they will even survive their attempt. There’s little to no thought given to the hereafter.

Although for my attempt, I hoped if I failed I would learn from it. You can’t cognitively cross that threshold of not knowing until you’ve actually survived. Plans may be made. But not grandiose. It’s am I going to live or die.
