Madison Sasser is the one who inspired me to return to writing at the same time I was advocating for resources needs with my own presentation during late 2022. So, a big shout-out to her for providing important insight here. And yes, I’m the one who just finished a lot of highlighting.
Madison represents a key fresh perspective on autism because of her age and attention to detail. I can’t remember exact quotes by an employer or job situation at that age. She can and it serves as sharper evidence that both researchers and professionals should be using compared to me being in my early 40s and older in age.
Her experience is recent. Current. Specific. And, in my humble opinion, still late diagnosed even though she was over 21. I would argue that all ages after at least 10 should be considered late. Each year of life afterwards allows for developmental problems to worsen.
A serious round of applause for Madison to make it into entry for Jackie Schuld’s late diagnosis project before it concludes. Madison’s perspective is one that the mental health profession needs.
