My older brother exposed me to German heavy metal music when I was growing up. As a result of that and our European ancestry, I’ve explored and taken quite closely to not just German metal music but also other languages.

Japanese (from my love for anime), Scandinavian, Swedish/Finnish, and a few others. Musicians such as Joe Hisaishi’s Red Hot Circuit (Venus Wars) or Yoko Kanno’s Rise (Ghost In The Shell), matter not to me that they are in languages I do not know.

I can still sing along and find an intense connection with them. I’m getting goosebumps from listening to Rise right now. Fascinating stuff.
